OUR SCHOOL IN THE NEWS

HOW WE GET RESULTS!

The Hydronauts Pathway is an all-inclusive programme which takes the non-swimmer from his or her first splash to developing confidence and competence in the water.

The partnership between Plymouth College and Plymouth Leander welcomes all children from the age of 3 years and above.

Our swimming programme includes every ASA Learn to Swim stage from 1 through to 7, as well as some unique

added skills that are essential to develop a young child’s full potential.

The Learn to Swim Stages 1-7 Awards are focused on developing the FUNdamentals of movement, with the aim of delivering the seven core skills required to be confident, competent and safe in the water.

The Herald - Free Swimming Lessons

YOUR child could get free swimming lessons – and all you have to do is pick up The Herald from Monday.

Hydronauts Swim Academy, run by Plymouth College and Plymouth Leander, is dishing out 600 free lessons to Herald readers.

It will be running a six-week course from Saturday, October 4, to help youngsters learn to swim or improve their water skills. The academy has offered to provide the six-lesson course free of charge to the first 100 entrants in The Herald's promotion, which starts on Monday.

Equipment

All the necessary equipment your child will need to learn-to-swim will be provided. All children are provided with their own swimming hat by the Hydronauts.

Progressions

Students are able to progress through ASA swimming levels 1-7. The Hydronauts supplement the ASA programme with extra skills as part of our World Class Pathway.

Once the ASA levels are complete and your child is a confident swimmer he or she can move on to Plymouth Leander and competitive swimming.

Safety

All Learn-to-swim sessions are supervised by qualified teachers and overseen by our headteacher as well as a fully qualified life guard to ensure the safety of all our students.

"Swimming is an important life skill - our mission is to provide an outstanding learn-to-swim programme that promotes a lifelong enjoyment of swimming, along with the added health & wellbeing benefits"
